Our Principal

As the Principal of RGA Canada, Christian Bayly is dedicated to providing top-notch education to our students. With 20 years of experience in the field, he firmly believes that every student has the potential to excel and is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive learning atmosphere. He has an in-depth knowledge of primary and secondary education theory and techniques, including balanced literacy, differentiated instruction, ESL, and Special Education. Additionally, with over 10+ years of experience as an E-Learning Administrator, he has designed and delivered programming and trained users in online learning platforms. He has expertise in teaching from Primary to Secondary levels and is a specialist in ESL and Special Education.

Guidance Counselor

Aimon Sun is an experienced education leader specializing in academic planning and student development within international high school programs. At Ready Global Academy Canada, he supports students in navigating their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) pathway, from course selection to university preparation.

With over a decade of experience in international education, Simon has worked extensively with students pursuing diverse academic pathways, helping them build clear goals and personalized strategies for success.

He is known for his thoughtful, student-centered approach, emphasizing communication, trust, and long-term growth. His work focuses not only on academic achievement, but also on helping students develop confidence, clarity, and direction for their future.

Hardy Jones

Senior English Instructor – Academic Writing & Literature

Dr. Hardy Jones brings a rare combination of academic depth and creative experience to the classroom. With a Ph.D. and a background as both a university professor and a director of creative writing, he specializes in developing advanced writing and analytical skills.

His classes focus on helping students move beyond basic expression toward sophisticated argumentation, voice, and style—key skills for university success. Students who work with Dr. Jones often see significant growth in both confidence and clarity in their writing. 

Courses taught include ENG3U and ENG4U, with an emphasis on analytical writing and independent thinking. He also has experience supporting advanced-level and university-preparatory English learning.

Liz Washburn

English Instructor – Critical Reading & Discussion

Liz Washburn is known for her highly interactive and discussion-driven teaching style. With over 20 years of experience and National Board Certification, she creates classrooms where students actively engage with texts through questioning, dialogue, and reflection.

Her strength lies in helping students become thoughtful readers who can interpret, challenge, and connect ideas—skills essential for academic success across all subjects. 

Courses taught include ENG2D and ENG3U, with a focus on reading comprehension and structured writing.

Gabriela Ayala

English Instructor – Writing & University Preparation

Gabriela Ayala combines English instruction with a strong focus on academic writing and university readiness. With over 14 years of teaching experience, she supports students in developing essays, personal statements, and structured arguments.

Her mentoring approach makes her especially effective for students preparing for post-secondary pathways, as she bridges classroom learning with real-world academic expectations. 

Courses taught include ENG3U and ENG4U, with an emphasis on writing development and academic communication.

Mira Thomas

Senior Mathematics Instructor – Conceptual Understanding

With more than 25 years of experience, Mira Thomas focuses on helping students understand the “why” behind mathematics. Her teaching goes beyond procedures, emphasizing deep conceptual clarity and long-term retention.

She is particularly effective with students who want to strengthen their mathematical thinking and build a solid foundation for advanced studies. 

Courses taught include MHF4U and MCV4U, with emphasis on functions, calculus foundations, and mathematical reasoning.

Michael Russell

Mathematics Instructor – Applied Problem Solving

Michael Russell specializes in making mathematics practical and accessible. His lessons often connect abstract concepts to real-world situations, helping students understand how math works beyond the classroom.

His guided-question approach encourages students to think independently and develop problem-solving confidence step by step. 

Courses taught include MCR3U and MHF4U, with a focus on problem solving and analytical thinking.

Collin MacLeod

Science Instructor – Advanced Programs & Critical Thinking

Collin MacLeod brings international teaching experience across multiple academic systems, including advanced-level science programs. His teaching emphasizes critical thinking, discussion, and conceptual mastery.

He is particularly skilled at supporting high-achieving students aiming for competitive university pathways. 

Courses taught include SBI3U and SBI4U, with an emphasis on inquiry-based learning. He also has experience supporting advanced-level science programs.

John Bryant

Science Instructor – Multi-Discipline Science

John Bryant has taught a wide range of science subjects, from biology and chemistry to physics and anatomy. His broad expertise allows him to support students across different areas of science with flexibility and depth.

He uses inquiry-based learning to help students think scientifically, not just memorize content. 

Courses taught include SCH3U and SPH3U, helping students build strong scientific reasoning skills.

Alexandre Pinheiro

Science Instructor – Advanced Concepts & Academic Support

Dr. Alexandre Pinheiro is known for his ability to simplify complex scientific concepts. With a strong academic background, he helps students break down challenging material into clear, manageable steps.

His structured approach is especially beneficial for students who want to improve understanding and academic performance in science. 

Courses taught include SCH4U, with a focus on conceptual clarity and problem solving.

Stephen Giannotti

Social Studies Instructor – Analytical Thinking & Historical Perspectives

Stephen Giannotti combines strong academic training with an engaging, activity-based teaching approach. He helps students connect historical knowledge with modern issues, encouraging deeper analysis and perspective-taking.

His classes emphasize both knowledge-building and skill development, preparing students for higher-level academic work. 

Courses taught include CHY4U, supporting advanced historical analysis and academic writing.

Business & Economics Instructor – Real-World Application

Dr. Samirah Merritt brings a practical, real-world perspective to business and economics education. With experience teaching at the college level, she helps students understand how theoretical concepts apply in real-life contexts.

Her courses focus on decision-making, financial literacy, and critical thinking—key skills for both university and future careers. 

Courses taught include BBB4M and BOH4M, with an emphasis on real-world business application. She also has experience teaching college-level business courses.
